Meet Anna
As an introduction to Anna’s Quilt Room, I’d like to provide a bit of background about myself. I was born in the Big Valley, a conservative and culturally diverse place where many people place great value on agriculture and living the simple life. I personally have a rich Amish heritage and cherish the opportunities I have daily to interact with the Amish population right in my hometown. My Amish neighbors appreciate being able to earn an income right at home, as a good portion of the quilts I sell are hand-quilted by the Amish themselves. I’ve chosen only the best quilters for my quilts.
My mom, who passed away in the early 1970s, was a quilt maker when I was younger, so I was fortunate to learn many of the basics from her. I have been personally involved in quilt making for the last 40 years. My husband Dale and I moved into to our current home, where our quilt and fabric store is located, and I began making and selling quilts in 1983. Our business has grown since then, and we’ve expanded to include a full line of top-quality sewing machines as well.
I guess you could say that making quilts is my biggest pastime, in addition to being my day job. I feel blessed to have found something I’m passionate enough about to do all day long. In addition to making quilts, I discovered in recent years another skill of mine: designing my own fabric. I have been working as a Colorist/Fabric Designer for a few years now. In fact, one of the fabric bundles I currently sell is made up of a line of fabrics I designed called Snuggly Bugs.
I am very pleased to have been here in this business for 25 years and to have met all the people that have made my business a success over the years. Now, with this new avenue of business via the Internet, I am looking forward to meeting even more new customers.
Thanks to all for shopping at my Quilt Room.
